Postdoctoral Fellow
Shih Yun Lin is a scientist in the field of plant biology. During her Ph.D. studies in the Department of Life Science at National Chung University, under the supervision of Dr. Jenq-Horng Lin and Dr. Ku MSB, she gained experience in rice transformation using the yeast DAAO gene. She is also interested in gene function in Arabidopsis, particularly in the male gametophyte. To pursue her interest, she joined Dr. Guang-Yuh Jauh’s laboratory after completing her doctoral degree, where she studied the genes involved in pollen tube germination during pollination. After obtaining results on the in vivo translatomes of Arabidopsis pollen tubes, she transitioned to Dr. Hong-Yong Fu’s laboratory to study RPN10 and RPN13, two plant ubiquitin receptors of the 26S proteasome.
Currently, she has decided to join Dr. Yu-Ying Phoebe Hsieh’s laboratory to investigate the battle between fungi and bacteria, while incorporating the plant perspective into this microbial interaction.
Outside the lab, Shih Yun enjoys hiking in the mountains, especially in Yangmingshan National Park in Taipei. She finds peace and relaxation when standing at the summit of Qixing Mountain.
